As Digital Media Manager I was responsible for devising and delivering a programme of service transformation led by user needs across internal and external digital communication channels. My role also included responsibility for social media strategy and implementation.

Following an extensive audit I headed up a programme that saw a significant number of external websites and services culled in favour of presentation as part of the main corporate site. To this end, I oversaw a complete rewrite of all digital (and much print-based) content based on principles established by the Government Digital Service. I reviewed and redeveloped end-to-end transactions to support customer journeys, led a move from distributed to centralised content production and delivered a redesign of the main corporate website.

This programme of work saw go from a 1 star SOCITM Better Connected to a 3 star (out of 4) rating.

I also oversaw the development of new websites to support Preston Park Museum and Grounds, Stockton International Riverside Festival (fresh each year), Heritage, Events and Visit Stockton – a site promoting the tourism offer across the Borough.

As part of the management team of an integrated communications service for the authority I contributed to press/PR and marketing activities as required and also headed up internal communications and employee engagement for a year.
